US Navy Awards L3Harris Technologies KC-130 Maintenance Contract

MELBOURNE, Fla., July 10, 2020 — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) announced today it has been awarded a U.S. Navy task order to provide planned depot-level maintenance on up to four KC-130 aircraft.

The task order provides planned maintenance services and in-service repairs on the U.S. Marine Corps KC-130J/T. Services will include de-paint and paint, inspection, repairs, operational checks and Functional Check Flights for improved aircraft readiness.

“Our team has extensive C-130 missionization, modernization and MRO experience, facility capacity and dedicated resources to rapidly induct, support and return the aircraft back to service,” said Jon Piatt, Vice President and General Manager, Integrated Aerospace Systems, L3Harris. “We are pleased the U.S. Navy selected us to apply our proven and trusted expertise to augment mission readiness for these critical U.S. Navy and Marine Corps C-130 aircraft.”

The company offers extensive missionization, modernization, and maintenance, repair and overhaul solutions for a diverse set of customers, missions and aircraft platforms. Ongoing C-130 programs include the Avionics Modernization Program Increment II for the U.S. Air Force, avionics modernization for international allies, as well as both missionization and Progressive Structural Inspection/Depot-Level Maintenance for the U.S. Coast Guard.

This is L3Harris’ first task order awarded under the U.S. Navy’s Contracted Maintenance, Modification, Aircrew and Related Services (CMMARS) program. CMMARS participation allows companies to pursue quick procurement task orders for heavy depot maintenance and related support services to augment the Navy’s organic capabilities as part of the Naval Air Systems Command Fast Acquisition Solutions To Enable Readiness initiative.
