Virtual Recruiting and Growing the L3Harris Team

For our defense and civilian customers alike, the COVID-19 global health crisis only solidifies their need for consistent, reliable support. Across air, land, sea, space and cyber domains, L3Harris employees make it possible for our customers to continue the mission-critical work they perform around the globe every day.

Strengthening our workforce is more important than ever. While these unprecedented times have presented unforeseen challenges, L3Harris’ business is still growing and needs talented new team members. Thanks to several leading recruiting events opting to proceed virtually this year, along with other new virtual hiring events being initiated, L3Harris has been able to continue engaging new candidates.

Michael McLaughlin, Space and Airborne Systems Talent Acquisition Director, shares how quick adaption of these virtual hiring methods is key. “We are fortunate that our business is well positioned to navigate this unprecedented situation, and we are still actively looking to bring great talent into our organization. Being able to quickly pivot to a virtual strategy for recruiting and onboarding has helped us to keep building our talent pipelines while providing a safe, comfortable process for the job seeker and our hiring teams.”

Christine Fischer, Senior Director of Talent Acquisition, emphasizes the importance of embracing virtual recruiting and educating new hires on the many steps L3Harris has taken to protect current employees amidst this pandemic. “So much is uncertain right now for those looking for a new opportunity,” says Fischer. “All the usual unknowns with starting a new job are there, plus the questions and concerns generated from COVID-19. Candidates and new hires can be encouraged by experiencing our new virtual onboarding process, but they want to know what to expect on day one. What is L3Harris doing for our employees now to keep everyone safe, from those in cubicles, to those on production lines? And how are we welcoming new members of our team that will start working from home.”

New information has been added to our new hire onboarding process that details the extensive actions L3Harris has taken to protect our employees. These actions include expanding our safety protocols, mandating work from home for those who can work remotely, strongly encouraging social distancing, staggering work shifts, redesigning workstations, and cancelling all travel and outside events.
