L3Harris Technologies has opened a new regional engineering support office in the Netherlands, which the company will use to support the nation and allied neighbors’ engineering resource needs as well as to serve as a central European location for technical customer demonstrations.
As a global defence technology company, L3Harris has recognized the need for increased presence in mainland Europe to provide more real-time support for its growing customer base on the continent. When the Netherlands Ministry of Defence chose L3Harris as the sole-source supplier for the FOXTROT program’s Military Transition Building Block, and the nation’s Materiel and IT Command signed a strategic partnership agreement with the company, the Netherlands became a logical location for a regional support facility, said Anthony Rodriguez, Principal, Program Management, L3Harris.
“L3Harris will deliver best-in-class solutions to the Dutch armed forces, and the engineering office in the Netherlands will provide the MoD with increased technical support, faster response times and in-country support historically only found in the United States,” said Rodriguez. “We are steadfast in providing the Ministry with solutions through partnership with local industry. The Dutch defense industry is rapidly growing, and L3Harris sees multiple opportunities to partner with industry to provide solutions not only to the Dutch MoD but globally.”
The company made concerted efforts to balance space requirements – and growth potential – for the new engineering hub with ease of access for its key customers, added Rodriguez. Amersfoort provided L3Harris with the closest location to Bernhardkazerne, which was a priority given the critical needs of the FOXTROT program. L3Harris is committed to expanding partnerships with government, industry and academia within the Netherlands and across Europe. The company has already signed multiple letters of intent to collaborate with Dutch defense companies and has robust plans to continue to expand its regional partnerships near its new Netherlands site.
“L3Harris has a long history of supporting the Netherlands MoD going back more than 30 years, including the recent FOXTROT program,” said Sandy Olejniczak, Senior Director, Business Development, L3Harris. “We will continue to provide the Netherlands with cutting-edge defense technologies including our Falcon® tactical radio products. L3Harris remains dedicated to the FOXTROT program and is increasing its support as the program continues to grow and progress.”
L3Harris delivered the first tactical radios as part of the program in 2025 and will continue to provide hardware and technical support to the MoD over the lifetime of the program. The company is also planning to hire Dutch citizens to grow its in-country presence and regional support, added Rodriguez.
