L3Harris continues to actively research recruitment and retention initiatives to encourage apprentices at all levels to join L3Harris in the U.K. and pursue a rewarding career. We also plan to adopt a U.K. wide ‘Early Careers Programme’ and already support apprentices with attaining the qualifications and experience they need to achieve the level of role they aspire to.

L3Harris graduate recruitment adds new skills and fresh thinking to our existing employee base with a particular focus on engineering. Opportunities to gain the right level of competencies continue to be developed across all of our U.K. sites, enabling access to more learning experiences and a widening skill set. Our recruitment teams frequently engage with both local and national universities, strengthening relationships and harnessing opportunities to build a pipeline of future talent.

We are actively recruiting Year IN Industry Placement roles across all of our U.K. L3Harris sites. By building on the contents of their current academic studies, placement intakes enable us to easily transfer our knowledge and strengthen their technical skills. This way we’re able to engage with them as future employees, and sponsored student agreements can be even made available for the right candidate. 

Our nine Enterprise Resource Groups (ERGs) bring together employees from all backgrounds, offering them a platform to network, foster professional development, and give back to local communities. We are establishing U.K. chapters of these groups to enable employees to promote and support the causes they are most passionate about.  

Our Pilot Pathways programme was launched in 2018 with the objective of making pilot training more accessible to a wider audience. The first Pilot Pathway was the Female Pilot Scholarship with the aim of encouraging more aspiring female aviators to enroll in pilot training. In August 2021 we launched our £10K Aviation Industry Recovery (AIR) Scholarship, showing L3Harris’ commitment to helping aspiring aviators fulfil their passion of becoming an airline pilot.
