L3Harris Secures Contract for the US Navy’s New Ocean Surveillance Shipset

HERNDON, Va., Sept. 2, 2025 — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has received a contract from Austal USA for the continued support of the U.S. Navy’s first T-AGOS-25 class ocean surveillance ship. Austal USA selected L3Harris to be the single system vendor and will manage the integration of the electric and propulsion systems for the T-AGOS class. The T-AGOS ships will provide enhanced security for fleets in the Atlantic and Pacific regions.

“T-AGOS ships are essential for strategic deterrence and operational awareness to meet the Navy’s requirements for anti-submarine warfare readiness,” said Nino DiCosmo, President, Maritime, L3Harris. “As Austal USA’s single system vendor, we will deliver a reliable, high-performing surveillance ship to achieve the Navy’s strategic objectives.”

The new ships will gather underwater acoustic data for submarine detection with passive and active surveillance. The T-AGOS-25 class uses a small waterplane area twin-hull design that is larger and faster than its predecessor currently in service.
