L3Harris’ launched effects portfolio is continuing to prove it is ready for the hunt. Earlier this year, the company’s innovative pack of vehicles, known as the Wolf Pack, completed its 60th flight test. In a market where many are still counting their first handful of test flights, L3Harris’ Wolf Pack has accumulated a flight record that directly supports the U.S. military’s needs – and more importantly, expands the capability and lethality of our warfighters who depend on these systems.
Red Wolf™ and Green Wolf™ represent L3Harris' growing portfolio of multi-role vehicles within the company’s launched effects suite. Designed for adaptability, these modular platforms incorporate sophisticated software that enables real-time in-flight collaboration and dynamic re-targeting, while also supporting the coordinated swarming of autonomous aircraft. Additionally, vehicles can be configured for recovery, ensuring they remain responsive to evolving mission requirements.
Designed to Operate in the Real World
Red Wolf and Green Wolf have proven their versatile capabilities through 13 fixed-wing aircraft launches, three rotary-wing aircraft launches and 44 ground launches – demonstrating the kind of multi-domain launch flexibility that modern joint operations demand. This isn't a family of systems optimized for a single platform and then retrofitted for others – the Wolf Pack was intentionally designed to operate across the full spectrum of real-world needs.
Perhaps more telling than the flight count is what the Wolf Pack has carried, connected and controlled during those flights. In those 60 flights, it has supported multiple mission payloads including 10 radios, six electronic warfare payloads, one seeker, and integration of two autonomy engines.
L3Harris’ Red Wolf is intended for kinetic strike, and Green Wolf is equipped with an electronic warfare payload. By employing a single host air vehicle for both systems, Red Wolf and Green Wolf provide a spectrum of warfighting capabilities while minimizing integration requirements and logistical tails. The flexibility enables warfighters to effectively and efficiently launch complementary effects, orchestrating electronic support, electronic attack and long-range precision strike as discrete missions – or with the application of autonomy – in a single, cooperative swarm.
As the Department of War (DoW) accelerates investments in launched effects and autonomous systems, Red Wolf and Green Wolf provide industry and military partners with a proven, scalable path for integrating expendable unmanned systems into current and future force structures.
This integration depth matters enormously as modern threat environments evolve. The ability to rapidly swap payloads and integrate new capabilities without starting from scratch is not a nice-to-have feature – it is mission critical.
The Launched Effects Era
The launched effects market is experiencing extraordinary growth and has equally extraordinary momentum. Geopolitical events have accelerated demand, and that demand has attracted significant investment and innovation across the industrial base.
This is where the Wolf Pack's flight record becomes a decisive differentiator. Every flight has generated data. Every warfighter demonstration has refined the human-to-machine interface and operational concept. The result is a family of systems that has already paid the maturation tax that every launched effects program must eventually pay.
Since 2021, L3Harris’ pack of launched effects has demonstrated increasing capability. This mature technology is rooted in 20 years of experience with air vehicle production, which includes the delivery of more than 1,200 released effects. This pedigree of vehicle development has set the foundation for future autonomous vehicle interfaces and systems. As the warfighters’ demand for advanced, capable and cost-effective munitions continues to increase, L3Harris' Wolf Pack stands ready to answer the call.
