MELBOURNE, Fla., Oct. 8, 2026 — Multiple L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) systems received “Jailbroken” status at U.S. Army Operation Jailbreak events this year, including on a new autonomous threat-sensing capability.
The Army’s experiments determined whether technologies had standards-based application programming interfaces for open-system integration into future networks. The L3Harris Falcon® IV family of radios, Wraith® waveform and Wraith Shield™ software, WESCAM® MX®-Series electro-optical/infrared sensors, and VAMPIRE® counter-unmanned systems all received jailbroken status. The technology’s interoperability validation with any data layer is suitable for Army, joint and coalition warfighting architectures.
“Military operations are increasingly data-driven, and assured communications across the battlespace to share that data are essential for strategic and tactical decision advantage,” said Chris Aebli, President, Communications & Spectrum Dominance, L3Harris. “We are focused on supporting the Army’s Right to Integrate initiative with open, adaptable and scalable systems to accelerate interoperability across multiple battlefield systems.”
The three-week exercises also included L3Harris working with three industry partners to connect communication systems with WESCAM MX-Series sensors and VAMPIRE through the Wraith waveform. This action demonstrated an interoperable, deployable robotic system that enables early intelligence and warning for improved decision advantage for combatant commanders.
