Benefits of Using Flight Simulation Training Devices

Innovative and highly efficient, our Fixed-Based Flight Simulation Training Devices offer tailored training solutions for airline operators. Some of the benefits of incorporating Flight Training Devices into your airline’s training procedures include:

  • Using cutting-edge, high-specification technologies, our Flight Simulation Training Devices have a wide selection of features that make training immersive to reflect real-world scenarios
  • Our Flight Training Devices support airline operators with streamlining training. They are best suited for training prior to entering a full flight simulator (FFS) or physical aircraft because they help pilots and maintenance personnel to acclimatize and transition to their new environment
  • Alongside airline operators, Flight Training Devices are very popular with universities and colleges, as well as flight schools, as they provide an excellent opportunity to prepare and train new aspiring pilots. Our Fixed-Based Flight Simulators are also ideal for those wanting to progress from first officer to captain
  • The fixed based training devices are ideal for Jet Transition Courses, available at our pilot training locations in the UK and Thailand
  • When you use one of our world-class Fixed-Based Flight Simulators, you will also benefit from our comprehensive customer support. Whether you need technical support, upgrades or a asset lifecycle management support, we can assist you to ensure a hassle-free experience for you and your crew

Fixed-Based Flight Simulator Overview

Flight Training Devices with a ground base - also called fixed-base simulators - are an indispensable tool in modern flight training. They are used by airline operators around the world to practice standard operating procedures (SOPs), but also for training checklist flows, aircraft systems and others.

Fixed Based Flight Training Device Details

The FTD provides effective airline training for pilots in use of an automated flight deck, systems integration and other procedures, all in normal, abnormal and emergency conditions, including:

  • Workload management
  • Situational awareness
  • Decision making

Our devices can be certified to either FAA Level 6 flight training device/ EASA Level 2 FNPTII are high profile and realistic models. They feature an aircraft-specific shell and flight deck offering the form, fit, feel and function comparable to full flight simulator with the exception of motion.

The experience in one of our Flight Training Devices is further enhanced by sophisticated sound and audio simulation, and an optional 220º field of view, multi-channel visual system that provides cues in day, dusk and night VFR and IFR conditions.

What Is the Difference Between Full and Fixed-Based Flight Simulators?

Both full flight simulators and fixed-based flight simulators create immersive training environments that support airline operators to develop their crew’s skills ahead of transitioning from training to flight operations.

The key difference between full and fixed-based flight simulation training devices is movement. Full flight simulators produce motion, whereas fixed-based simulators replicate the sounds, visuals and environment of an actual aircraft, without moving.

Often, fixed-based flight training devices are used alongside Full Flight Simulators to complete specific training tasks. This makes more time available for the more complex training tasks that must be completed on Full Flight Simulators.

Alongside our Fixed-Based Flight Simulators, other pilot training systems that can be used prior to our full flight simulators include Flat Panel Trainers and Flight Management System Trainers.
