At DSEI 2025, James Dunne, Managing Director of L3Harris Maritime UK, chaired a panel titled "One Enterprise, One Mission: Aligning the Supply Chain to the Warfighter." Part of the Land Forum’s focus on "Securing Advantage: Agile Acquisition and Supply Chain Security," the session explored how the supply chain can be better prepared to support future operations and create a more coherent support enterprise within the defence ecosystem.
“Aligning the supply chain to the warfighter is about more than logistics,” said Dunne. “It is about readiness. By modernising digitally, reinforcing the strategic base, building resilience and embracing the energy transition, Defence can ensure support is a source of strength rather than vulnerability.”
A key theme was digital modernisation with panellists highlighting how data-driven logistics can provide visibility, predict demand and accelerate the flow of equipment and materials to the frontline. The conversation also addressed the importance of the strategic base, recognising that a strong domestic industrial foundation, combined with trusted global partners, is critical to delivering resilience.
The panel went on to explore how resilient supply chains can withstand disruption and adapt to new operational requirements. Resilience was viewed as essential to sustaining availability, particularly when supporting coalition missions or operating in contested environments. The energy transition was also discussed, with participants noting that secure and sustainable energy sources are increasingly vital to maintaining operational advantage while reducing vulnerabilities in deployed settings.
Across DSEI – the flagship defence event for the UK – L3Harris demonstrated solutions in maritime autonomy, resilient communications and multi-domain sensing. Each capability was designed to connect the support chain more tightly to the operational edge. By combining innovation at speed with trusted partnerships, L3Harris continues to help modernise the support enterprise and align resources directly to mission needs.
