MELBOURNE, Fla. — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) will provide advanced booster avionics to Northrop Grumman for NASA’s Artemis missions to return humans to the moon.

L3Harris will provide the advanced avionics for the Artemis missions IV-VIII, continuing the role the company played on Artemis I-III. The company will accelerate delivery of launch avionics systems, providing high-performance, technologically advanced and low-cost solutions to meet ever-changing and increasing complex mission requirements.

L3Harris’ technology reduces program risk from material obsolescence, reduces the cost per flight and supports redesign of the Artemis IX booster to increase payload capacity.

“Our 60-year history of supplying dependable launch avionics makes us the right supplier for Northrop Grumman, the Space Launch System and the Artemis missions returning humans to the moon,” said Kristin Houston, President, Electro Optical, L3Harris. “We are committed to accelerating our processes to deliver booster avionics that safely support the Artemis mission.”

The Artemis program is the latest example of L3Harris anticipating customers’ needs and delivering innovative solutions quickly and flawlessly. Other examples include NASA programs from early spacecraft through the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Space Shuttle, International Space Station and Mars missions. L3Harris has supported deep space exploration with work on the Hubble Space Telescope, and now the James Webb Space Telescope and Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. In addition, the company supports space-based weather forecasting on U.S. and international satellites and has navigation technology on every U.S. GPS satellite.
