Mobile Mission Communications, Simplified: The L3Harris MC-3000I Mobile Command Intercom

Modern missions are expanding in intensity, scale and geographic reach. As forces mobilize across greater distances and more dispersed operational environments, they require communications systems capable of securely connecting disparate networks across the mission ecosystem. The L3Harris® Technologies MC-3000I Mobile Command Intercom is built to meet that need with an integrated, decentralized architecture designed to support mission continuity in the most demanding conditions.

“The MC-3000I is a new, innovative approach to interconnected vehicular communications,” said Josh Bates, Senior Manager, Product Management, L3Harris. “The Mobile Command Intercom uses a fully networked yet decentralized system without a single point of failure. This design reduces vulnerabilities and lowers both the cost of the system and its SWaP (size, weight and power), making it an ideal capability for the small-vehicle market.”

Clearer communications, faster decisions

The MC-3000I delivers clear, intelligible voice performance in noisy, confined vehicular environments where communications clarity is essential to mission execution and decision-making. Close integration with L3Harris tactical radios across the Falcon® II, III and IV product lines, along with options for additional tactical radio integrations, supports interoperability with existing and future networked communications architectures, further enhancing teams’ ability to stay connected and coordinated during dispersed missions.

Operators can choose from two crew-station options based on mission needs. The keypad-display station supports advanced call management, conferencing and radio control, while the rotary-dial station provides fast, simple operation in high-tempo missions.

Both options are designed for intuitive use to reduce training time and help ensure teams remain focused on their missions. Night-vision-compatible interfaces and a blackout mode also support low-signature operations.

Simplified setup, accelerated deployment

The MC-3000I’s Configuration Programming Application (CPA) allows users to configure intercom and radio systems through a single interface. This reduces system complexity, streamlines fleet deployment and supports efficient lifecycle management of communications assets. Remote-control capabilities further enhance secure operations while maintaining network consistency across distributed forces.

“The MC-3000I’s modular design allows organizations to deploy consistent communication capability across different vehicle types and mission profiles,” said Bates. “From smaller tactical vehicles to larger command formations, the system delivers standardized performance without adding unnecessary SWaP burden.”

The MC-3000I is tested to demanding military environmental and operational standards across land, maritime and mobile tactical use. Backed by L3Harris’ global support and integration expertise, the solution is designed to future-proof program investments focused on long-term communication modernization.

The MC-3000I Mobile Command Intercom is available for order now, with full-rate production and shipments beginning in the third quarter of this year.
