C-Worker 5 ASV

The C-Worker 5 is the ideal solution to increasing survey coverage in limited timeframes. A proven offshore survey “force-multiplier,” the C-Worker 5 can operate for up to 7 days at survey speeds up to 7 knots.Unlike conventional survey vessels, the C-Worker 5’s design is optimized for its purpose without having to consider human factors. Despite its compact size, the vehicle has an excellent sea-keeping ability. It has been proven to carry out surveys and a manned vessel with the added benefit of its shallow draught and excellent maneuverability, enabling it to operate in areas that larger vessels cannot.

The vehicle has a fixed payload location for accurate offset measurement and a 19” rack to house standard processing systems. The system integrates quickly and easily with a wide variety of acquisition systems, enabling line plans to be uploaded for accurate data collection. The C-Worker 5 can be launched and recovered as well as operated from a mother vessel.

The C-Worker 5 has proven itself a safe, reliable and robust vehicle capable of withstanding harsh offshore conditions. The vehicle operates using the ASView autonomous control system. It can be controlled manually or to follow pre-programmed routes that can be updated at any point through an easy to use PC based graphical user interface.

Control modes include waypoint and line following, heading and track hold, station keeping and remote control. The ASView features standard S57 navigational charts with the ability to import files such as geotiff and .dxf survey lines.

The C-Worker 5 comes as standard with the enhanced communications and situational awareness system supporting operations at extended ranges outside of the operator’s direct line of sight.

The C-Worker 5 can host L3Harris’ advanced autonomy system, which enables COLREG-aware autonomous navigation and path planning. The C-Worker 5 is safety assured with its emergency stop safety function as well as an AIS-based last response system, which disengages the propulsion system.

The C-Worker 5 is a proven offshore survey platform. L3Harris operates a fleet of four vehicles, which have been deployed in survey operations in the UK, France, USA and Australia, carrying out in excess 15,000 km of survey lines in a single operational area. The C-Worker vehicles are available for purchase or lease.
