MELBOURNE, Australia, Sept. 11, 2024 — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) will launch a new Indo-Pacific Regional Support Centre model to expedite field service repairs and increase in-theatre support to warfighters and first responders using more than 50,000 of the company’s communications systems throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

Company officials, along with local and international dignitaries and partners, came together to announce the initiative at this year’s Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition. The Regional Support Centre model, aligned with the goals of the recently announced U.S. Department of Defense Regional Sustainment Framework, will be operational by early 2025.

“Our key driver in the Regional Support Centre is customer satisfaction and ensuring our customers have the critical defence and public safety communication capabilities they need to protect their national sovereignty and enable an integrated, focused force,” said Chris Aebli, President, Tactical Communication Systems, L3Harris. “This model is an example of how we are making investments for a more robust future that further supports Australia’s economic connection to the region while contributing, with partners, to the collective security of the Indo-Pacific.”

The centre will combine the company’s resilient communications support capabilities in Australia. To demonstrate this model, L3Harris, in partnership with operations and sustainment company V2X Inc., successfully tested the proof of principle with the U.S. Marine Corps in Darwin in mid-August, demonstrating the ability to react to urgent customer needs and repair and return equipment within days.

The launch of the regional support centre model follows the recently announced L3Harris Centre of Excellence for Electronic Warfare in Brisbane and is part of L3Harris’ commitment to building capability in Australia. This level of commitment is also seen in L3Harris’ recent admittance into Australia’s premier global supply chain government program that will facilitate integrating in-country innovation, technology and products from new suppliers into the company’s global operations.
