L3Harris Technologies successfully deployed its perimeter truss reflector onboard the ViaSat-3 Flight 3 satellite, marking the first flight for the company's perimeter truss reflector design. The reflector will support high-speed broadband connectivity across the Asia-Pacific region.
The successful deployment represents a significant milestone for L3Harris' perimeter truss antenna technology. The reflector achieved first-flight success following the satellite's launch from Kennedy Space Center in Florida aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket on April 29, 2026.

"This reflector is 30% more compact than the industry standard perimeter truss reflectors while maintaining exceptional surface precision, focusing signals with near-perfect accuracy to maximize data capacity and deliver superior broadband performance to users."
L3Harris is a supplier of large deployable mesh reflector apertures and antenna systems for UHF-Band through Ka-Band. The perimeter truss reflectors feature a reflective mesh surface that maximizes antenna gain and provides improved performance required for advanced communications services.
L3Harris builds its perimeter truss antennas, including ViaSat-3 F3’s, in Palm Bay, Florida. L3Harris has delivered more than 130 large deployable reflectors and continues to push the boundaries of space antenna technology.
